Lee Whalen – Bass

Although active in many styles of music, Lee Whalen is best known for his jazz work and the propulsive sense of swing he brings to the ‘Knights rhythm section where he has been a fixture since their inception in 2004. A versatile acoustic and electric bassist, Lee takes every opportunity to learn, perform, and record in as many genres as possible. This practice has expanded his ear mightily and landed him on many a bandstand throughout the Northeast with eclectic groups like Gumbo Diablo (Zydeco), Booty Vortex (gutbucket 70’s funk), Rising Tribe (Celtic Reggae) as well as the occasional theater orchestra pit.
